。。zzz
I visit your blog rather often. As a blogger (casual kind) myself, I find that there are a few guidelines a blog poster can follow:
ReplyDelete1. Don't let your audience over expect or under expect. If you post 7 times a week, people will visit often. If you post once a week, people will expect once a week. Hence this keeps people to know when to be back and what to expect while not getting upset finding too much or too little.
2. State the objective of your blog and the contents explicitly and clearly to certain extent so people will think of your blog when they remember something, something they can relate on.
3. Traffic often comes later. While observing key metrics on google analytics often a "motivation" to keep the blog running, but it should not be a reason at all. Analytics intent to help blogger determine "best time to post" and running experiments :) Traffic grows when people start recommending and doing backlinks.
4. Be yourself. My experience told me that 2 kinds of blog draws curiosity. Educational (means tips and tricks on certain topics) or Personal (something personal to you). The first draws attention of mass public if you are good and hence high traffic. The latter draws people who cares about you or who is pat gua (basically a more targeted audience) hence a smaller group of people, less traffic but quality traffic.
Hence my advice is, blog only when you really want to blog and don't make it an obligation. Know why you want to blog. Else consider alternative options of asking few friends like you to blog on single blog so each of you can blog casually while ensuring the blog space to be utilized frequently.
Lengthy post, hope you find new insights in it and luv your blog as a source of what going on with you.
fuu yohh~ U sound like a expert which I know you always be.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your support, as you said, analytics would not help much if it's not been use correctly..
Actually, I did discover sometimes the motive that drive me to blog has become the obligation that make me experience stress, that's why I dun feel like blogging sometimes (especially when I was pretty sad or emotionally affected)~
Thank you so much for your advices and also your keng cao suggestions, I should learn "how to be a GOOG blogger" instead of quantities blogger~ wahaha...(>.<)
hang in there!
